Beating down it's predecessor Afterburn like a red headed step child, Fumefx ups the ante when it comes to creating realistic voxel based volumetric FX. Smoke, fire and explosions have never looked more realistic. |
After years of making people shit themselves with it's realism, this predecessor to Fumefx is still heavily used for creating particle based volumetric fxs. Is it still on the cutting edge? No. Does it look as good as Fumfx? Absolutely not. Are these questions starting to bother you? Probably... |
For a little more then a couple of Benjamin's, you can own one of the most badass plugins available for 3dsmax. This plugin, created by Russian dude (Mir Vadim) does everything Max wishes it could, but can't. Fracture, smash and destroy objects, blow shit up or riddle characters and objects with bullets. With Nvidia PhysX integration and new 64bit support, it's better then ever. |
Up until the release of 3dsmax 2010, everybody and their mamma used Polyboost. It's now been bought up by Autodesk and incorporated into the new versions of Max. So if you were curious as to where the new Graphite modeling tools came from, this is it. Sorry Bastards like myself who are still using older versions of Max can purchase the script version and have access to it's awesome, time saving modeling tools. |

I'm not gonna lie...I love me some movies! In fact I actually own close to 600 of them (I have no life). So I figured as long as I was recommending stuff, I might as well throw in a few of my favorites. I was actually going to do this when I originally launched my website, but for fear of sounding too unprofessional, I decided to pass on the idea. Well, it's two years later and I figured fuck it, might as well... |
I'm sure everyone's seen Die Hard. I put it in here because I think it's the best action movie, cop movie or terrorist movie ever made. Plus, Hans the European douche bag terrorist played by Alan Rickman, is one of the best movie villains ever. It's probably my favorite movie of all time. The second and third parts are really good too. Part four........not so much. |
THE BOURNE IDENTITY | SUPREMECY | ULTIMATUM |
Face it, these movies kick ass. If you're a fan of espionage, car chases, shootouts, or amnesia you'll want to watch this trilogy. Matt Damon stars as David Webb a.k.a. Jason Bourne, a CIA trained assassin who took two in the back and nearly drowned to death in the Mediterranean sea. After getting fished out of the drink, he's back, pissed and has no clue who the fuck he is, was or why people are trying to kill him... But don't worry, he still remembers how to kill people, drive evasively and viciously kick the ever loving shit out of anyone in his way. |
What can I say about these? They were definitely groundbreaking in terms of visual fx. I'd recommend getting a hold of the 10 disc 'Ultimate Matrix Collection' if you can. It's pretty badass, it comes with the movies of course, but it also includes like twenty hours of behind the scenes features on everything from the cutting edge FX, to the fight scenes, stunts and car chases. Sweet deal! |

THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY |
The epic journey of jerry curled midget turned hero, Frodo Baggins. Featuring amazing creature design, the albino crack head looking Golum and some of the best special effects ever put on film (Thanks Weta!) These movies are epic to say the least. |
Batman done right! We finally get to see all the stuff nobody thought was important enough to even bother putting in the other shitty Batman movies. You know, useless information like, how did Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman learn the sweet moves he uses to kick peoples asses? Where did he get his pimp ride? and how exactly did he end up with his Batsuit and the other cool shit he uses? Well fear not, everything's explained in this far more realistic retelling of Batman's origin story, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale. |
Personally, I think this is one of the few sequels that's actually better the original. It has a great story, great acting and tons of action. I was never part of the Heath Ledger fan club, but his scene stealing turn as the bat shit crazy Joker, should go down as one of, if not the best movie villains of all time. So good in fact, it makes me wish he wasn't, well...dead... |
Daniel Craig's first go in the tux and the most realistic movie in the franchise. This movie has amazing stunts, action and brutal fight sequences. The free running foot chase in the beginning of the movie is epic and it's worth watching just for that. |
